AC Problem... it's so hot, please help!

Hey guys,

I have a 98 2.5TL with Climate Control. Just a couple weeks back, the AC just stopped working. I called my local Acura dealership and they said I could bring it in and have it checked for somethin like 50 bucks! I am pretty handy with minor repairs and maintenance, so I figured I would try to tackle it myself first. I know there are some relays for the Climate Control located behind the glove compartment, but before I start ripping my dash apart, I wanted to see if any of you have had this problem before and found a solution.

When I turn my CC down to start the AC, i hear a small click then nothing happens, no blowing air, no cold air, no nothing. The heat works, but doesn't blow as fast as it used to. I have tried setting it to work manually by putting it on max cool, and adjusting fan speed to max, but still nothing. I am wondering if any of you have had this problem and might be able to help me out.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Trav

i would say its your blower motor.. huge task to DIY if you aren't familiar with the car, very expensive. i could always be wrong, let sopme other members add their input. good luck finding the problem!! btw - $50 for a diagnosis at the dealer isn't too bad, it's $100 around me.

Bring it to an AC shop, that's more practical than a regular shop.

Might be your climate control unit since your blower works on heat.

Try performing the Self-Diagnosis Function on the Climate Control.

PM your email address and I'll forward.

good luck
