Unhappy ABS problem no noise

I have a strange ABS problem. My ABS light comes on and stays on, not immediately but after few seconds of acceleration, while I pick up my car speed. After going through few of the previously posted threads, I decided to get a code, by shorting the service connector (blue connector under glove compartment) with a jump clip, but I had no luck. When I short the connector (with jump pin) and by turning the ignition key to ON position (not starting the car), my ABS light stays on, but I see no flashes. I decided to post a new thread for some of your comments...... I have this problem for quite some time now. I recently had a brake fluid flush[not that it might fix the problem, but my brake fluid was almost bad], but it didn't fix the problem......BTW, after my brake fluid flush, my brake pedal seem to go down [because of leak in brake master cylinder], but had this ABS problem even before my brake fluid flush [2.5 TL 1996, 101100 mi] ..appreciate your comments

This condition is described in the 2.5TL shop manual.

Most likely cause is open No. 7 fuse (7.5A) in the under-dash fuse box.

Less likely but possible are open blk/yel wire from under-dash fuse box to ABS control unit connector (terminal 11).

Even less likely is a short in the blu/red ground wire from the ABS indicator light. Since it goes off and comes on, this last can be eliminated. If a grouind short existed, ABS would be on any time keyswitch is ON.

The 7.5A fuse is most likely, but if it's out it may go out again indicating a fault in the power supply in the ABS control unit. Probably not repairable, and new control unit may be necessary.

good luck
