ABS Light ON
ABS Light ON
My ABS light just recently turned on. Ive been looking around online trying to find a fix for this, and I see people asking for codes and what not. How do I figure this out? How do I check the codes, or find out what I have?
is the brake fluid level full, and the slider inside its cap is working?
Have any major parts store come outside to the car - they plug in a scanner and get whatever codes are there
Could be a speed sensor or dirty fluid in the system
Whens the last time you flushed/bled the brake fluid fully?
Needs to be done every year to prevent internal mositure buildup in the system-
google hygroscopic for more details

ABS code can be extracted by shorting the service check connector under the glove box, a blue 2-wire female connector plugged into a dummy male end. Short the connector, turn keyswitch to ON, and ABS light will flash codes w/ one iniital long flash (system working), followed by codes in short flashes (f) w/ short pause (p) between 1st and 2nd digit of code. For example ffff-p-f = Code 4-1.
Download the TL manual for details of codes or post your results, and I'll try to help.
good luck
