two years ago had to tow car to repair shop. issue, upon trying to start, no response. service report read that the mechanic - checked engine code, found auto transmission code ; cleared ; drove car; light did not com back on; had no other issues. Two years later, seem to have same problem. Would like to avoid the cost of finding out the code. Does anyone know the auto trans code. thank you.

 

Just try disconnecting the battery's negative terminal for 30 seconds, then re-connecting and trying to start the car.

remember trying that the first time, but with your suggestion, thought i'd try again. same result, no result. car still does not even attempt to start. any other suggestions.

 

Do you hear a click when you turn your key? If you do, then it's either your starter solenoid or the contacts on the starter. Contacts are ridiculously cheap, but the starter is a pain to get to if you have a 3.2. There is a thread on starting issues, please do a search for it as it was a very big discussion.

there is no click. I have a 98 2.5, and this definately a repeat of my last problem, not the starter or the contacts. I just thought that the transmission code might be a common code to reset. I will probably visit the shop that fixed it last time and see if they have it on record or maybe visit a acura service shop and see if they will give it to me. thanks for your suggestions
