How do I know if my motor mounts are bad? What affect do the vacuum lines going into them have? I know from past experiences, that when the engine "clunks" into the next gear, the motor mounts are shot. Does anyone knwo where I could get new ones at a reasonable price? Thanks.

Hard to tell if motor mounts are the problem unless you can see physical damage or deterioation of mount.

I found the vacuum line does not seem to affect idle vibration (removed and idle smoothness stayed same). Vacuum line would not affect shift quality, IMV.
