96 TL question on deceleration

Just got the above car 85k miles. Already fought with changing the front rotors. What a pain.

I have a question on the car when you take the foot off the gas it seems to slow down considerably not coast. Its like a governer on the car. Really decelerates.

It was that way driving home, thought it was brake drag. All rotors and pads have been changed still the same. NO sounds of rubbing/grinding etc. The car just slows down real quick.

Is that normal with this car?

Thanks Madness

i believe its happen too all 1st gen cars, try sea foaming it just to clean that engine up..n you will notice a good acceleration for a week or so.

@krayzie: i have the same problem even though I just sefoamed Saturday.

@madness: you get used to it after a week or so

this is probably one of the reasons we don't get considerably better gas mileage - the engine always has to fight that deceleration, meaning we have to press ever so slightly harder on the gas than others do, and we have to press it more often. When you want to coast down a hill or something you could try putting the car in neutral, but I've never tried it so I'm not sure if it would actually help. Plus, it might not be good for our tranny. wanna be a guinea pig?
