New to the TL community Pics*

I just bought my uncle's 1996 2.5 TL 97,000 miles, original owner, garage kept...

It has an oil leak and the trunk leaks. It also has the common weak door handles, scratched windows and air leak from the front window.

Other than that it runs great, shifts and idles great. Just Seafoamed the motor and changed the oil. I am going to do a tune up next.

Where are the common places for oil to leak?

Thanks guys! I was planning on doing the clear corners. Any other suggestions on mods to be done?

Well since you are in NJ tint the back windows 5%. Look into the Inspire Tails and maybe an LED conversion. Get some rims then slam it. Then debadge it. A little ROOOOOOM under the hood wouldn't hurt either. Chrome the shift plate to that is like a $5 mod and the easiest, but most impatient one to do. Sound to if you don't like what you have now. Good luck with her though.

Nice Wheels! If you don't mind sharing, how much did you pay?

Oil leaks are common from distributor oring.

Oil filter bracket to engine block oring is another leaker. I have that on my 2.5TL now, but I've put off fix cause it's hard to access.

Valve cover gasket can also be problematic, but easy fix. Spark plug tubes may leak oil into spark plug wells. If you see lot's of oil on spark plug wire ends, then seals need replacement.

good luck

That's a nice one! I wish mine was in that condition, but here in Macau cars get a bit of a hammering when parked. As far as oill leaks go, my 96 TL has one and just its got worse over the past few weeks. The mechanic here says it looks like the leak is coming from the head but hes not sure. As a temporary measure they did a top up of Mobil 1. See what happens

Batone, I will trade you one JDM engine cover for...

your entire interior. Final offer.

You can keep your phone as I have a bigger one.

~Cheers~

P.S. I'll throw in a Weapon-R Secret Weapon intake that's been oiled with the K&N oil.
