They still don't work. You need to have someone else host the pictures.

See.. when you make the page on your computer they'll show up because you obviously can access "My Documents", we cannot.

Try imageshack.

Sorry, crappy DreamWeaver. It's working now, and they are being hosted by someone else. It's just I created the html file. It should be all good now. Finally!

looks real cool... and may i add that i envy all you 3.2 TL'ers... you can swap rims with basicly any car with the same five lug pattern which most cars have...

Still... you car looks sweet and clean with those rims...
Like the clarion too...

i think it is workin ken - clicked on 1997 3.2tl and 4 pics popped up.

ajax...nice rims. to be honest, im not a fan of the 04 tl five spoke design on that size wheel on a 1st gen but every man (and woman) has their own tastes. However, they look farrrrrrrr better than the ahem...rather plain stock wheels to put it mildly and im glad u didnt take the "spinners" rout and make your sweet ride look GHETTO like everybody else seems to wanna do these days. Did u get the tires from a 6mt or a slushbox - i think the manuals have (or came with an option for) better rubber.

I APPLAUD, your effort to keep things oem. Ditto to surfingscotty who i think put acura 17" rims from a CL Type S (i think) on his 1st gen. These rims tend to keep the tls classly look and the oem badging makes the entire ride look stock (and classy). I personally am lookin into 17" TSX rims - 7 spoke design with 215/50 rubber. I Think it will look real nice. However I have one small problem......I DONT HAVE ANY FREAKIN MONEY$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$

Hey thats life

Im impressed by how good that looks. I saw those on a second gen and thought that it looked a little funny, but it acutally works pretty well on the 1st Gens. Its lookin good! Are those 17x8? Or 17x7.5 or what.

Well I did some work, so I could see what it would look like on a black (or at least darker TL)

Here's a VERY rough sketch but I think it turned out well

the new black chrome wheels or whatever they're called from '05 would probably look sick on a white car

And you have the audacity to say that is a "VERY rough sketch"... how dare you...

looks cool with the dark car (i'm color impaired ) if you ask me... man... the car doesn't look as stock even though those are stock wheels...

Thanks for all of the compliments. Lets see if I can get the questions answered here.

The wheels are 17x8, honestly I think the 8" is a little too much. They stick out more than I'd like but I'm still happy with it. 7.5" would be the best though. I found the wheels on Ebay for an awsome price. I was originally looking for the Type-S wheels but I came across these and won the auctions, so woohoo! The tires I put on it are just some Kumho 711, 225/45/17. Decent tire but nothing special, they were fairly cheap as far tires go.

The Clarion I picked because I hate all the fancy crap that they have out there now and I really didn't want the little pocket beneath my stereo either; not too fond of that. I also didn't want to spend a ass-load of money on a stereo that did everything but wipe my ass. So I came across the Clarion on crutchfield.com, got all the stats on it and I ended up getting it from thezeb.com. They have some pretty killer prices, the deck was pretty cheap also compared to other DDs. It's an mp3 player too so I definetly happy with it, sounds surprisingly good with the stock speakers.

That was crazy how you change the color of my car. I gotta say though I like my color, it always looks clean and hides a lot of the imperfections. That's a pretty spiffy skill though.

My goal with the wheel was to get as close to looking stock as possible without being stock. I wanted to look different but I didn't want some gaudy wheels. I was definetly surprised by how it turned out.

Thanks for all the input!

Because it is like that stock. Why? To meet rear crash safety tests. Almost ALL modern cars are like that now. Blame SUV's and their high bumpers.

Oh wow!! It looks nice!!

Ken, nice chop! I love that color. It's like a mixture of black and sand colors. Our Town & Country Limited was in that color. Sucks it was totaled.

Yeah, I tried going darker but it didn't have the glossy metallic look I wanted, so i put up a few shades.

my TL-S aint like that the wheel well gap is actully bigger in the front then the rear.

The overall body on yours is like that though. Look at your bumper height if you can ever compare it next to a 1st generation TL.

Then compare the 2 TL's against a '91 - '95 Legend which is more level from front to rear.

Its bumper height that was needed. Since the 1st generation TL is a heavily reworked Vigor/Legend platform, it needed a "retrofit" to meet increasingly tough crash standards.

The 2nd generation TL is based on the '98 USDM Accord's Global Midsize Platform which again, has a higher rear bumper than previous Accords.

You ARE correct about the wheel well gap. It does exist on the 1st generation TL's and not on the 2nd.

The handling is great, I think there is an improvment there with the wider tires. The ride feels like I'm riding on over-inflated tires. That is the best way I can describe it. I love it, I think it looks a lot better than it did and drives better. Very pleased!

nice job ken with the photo editing. That just changed my viewpoint from not liking to 5 spoke rims to...that looks TIGHT on a TL....I have a nighthawk black TL likes yours so I guess I can identify more when the rims are on that color car. Thanks a lot once again, and keep up the work

this wheel gap you guys are talking about is just an illusion. the rear gap looks bigger than the front because the front and rear wheel wells are cut at the same height. most newer cars have the rear wells lower than the front.

Its not an illusion. I've compared it to the '91 - '95 Legend sedan and the Vigor. The gaps are even on those with the wheels neatly tucked in. On the 1st generation TL, the rear does rise slightly high. It does NOT do this on the RL. But on the RL, the bumper is somewhat thicker and higher up.

Its all about crash standards. Blame all the trucks and SUV's on the road.

Here's an RL and TL for comparison.

You'll notice how the TL has a rise towards the rear. The RL is level.

This picture REALLY illustrates how the rear is "jacked up"

this "jacked up" effect u speak of seems to be exacerbated when a bigger wheel/tire combo is added. Anyway to compensate for that - lowering springs on the back or bigger rim in back. Any suggestions?

Well lowering springs do fix it. I've noticed the drop is more for the rear on those.
