You can scuff them yourself, get spray tint at a hobby shop, then clear coat them and do them yourself. stas2007 put window tint on the turn signal and reverse light to give the tail light an AMG look to it.

From what I have read on other sites, the spray tint is just like spray painting something. With the tint I believe you still have to scuff the lamp so that the tint will stick but I'm not sure. Here is the link to the new DIY section: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tl-1996-1998-101/1st-generation-tl-d-i-y-database-please-look-here-before-you-search-718462/

He did? Wow, me, too... I'm taking mine off and re-doing them, though, since I used leftovers and one side isn't quite perfect.

~Cheers~

looks great.
Can you write up a brief DIY steps with what kind of spray you used?

It can be added to the DIY section that kamzine's working on.

Window tint comes off easily. It is just the glue that is left behind that is PITA.

I had scraps left over from tinting my windows, and I eyeballed it to fit. Nothing was used to measure anything, and it just happened to work our perfectly. It's a 35% tint, in case you're wondering.

Did you lightly sand the tail light as TLn401 suggested or you used a different method

Sanding is only for tint spray. I just did it when I tinted my windows. A heat gun is recommended for the curve in the tail.

I only did the turn signal/reverse area. I actually want people to be able to see my stop lights, haha.

looks nice go90go, u can also buy clearcoat and clear the window tint...

Another thing people do is buy clear adhesive book cover spray paint it mettalic red with clear, i did it on my old taillights so the whole light was dark red and very shiny...it was the easiest way to repair my old cracked tailights.
