car troubles....
okay I changed wires, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, used fuel injector cleaner, dry gas..etc. I had a compression test on all cylinders and they are good....the car will run on five cylinders then on four with no apparant change in anything, 1998 TL 2.5 106k on her. Any ideas? oh yeah , check engine lite on it starts to blink when i kick down a gear to pass , go up hill etc... frustrating need input from one of ya motorheads out there....
you might want to bring the car to an advance auto parts/autozone/pep boys/etc. and get them to run a OBDII code scan and see if the ECU is recording any codes the car might be throwing. It'd help with the diagnosis of the problem.

another question on misfire.....
okay, i took the 98 tl 2.5 to autozone and the codes read 2nd cylinder misfire..which i knew, and glow plug??? associated with diesels??? d/k anyways, the guy told me to spray WD40 on the brand new cap and plugs i just put in last week...mind you the same cylinder has been misfiring all along....#2, and the ol wd40 trick was used on old cap before the change with no change in performance...he told me mos def not fuel injector...(any objections plz speak up...) now, i am guilty of using less than premium gas since the rise in prices...i would say for the past two months..this is going to cease after reading the threads on performance in correlation to octane...but do any of you mechanical minded people think it could be distributor...the crazy point of it all this is only #2 is misfiring through all the changes....which leads me to think fuel injector or something....didnt change rotor however because there wasnt room to get to it..would this affect the misfire of #2 only? PLEASE HELP
