Windsheild Wiper Disaster

I guess the previous owner of my 1998 3.2 premium turned on the wipers while the windsheild was covered with ice. This did something that in turn causes the wipers to either go to far almost off my windsheild, and then smack the bottom part where they are supposed to rest when off. This is annoys me so bad. Anyone have this problem or no how to fix it? i dont feel like paying to have it done it seems like i can do it myself.
Any help is greatly appreciated

It may be as simple as loosening the bolt holding them on, and then adjusting them, and retightening the bolt. Thats what I had to do on my old car. Five minute job.

Could it be that the bolt wasn't tightened enough and they were swinging farther than they're meant because nothing was holding them tightly?

It has to be an adjustment issue, that's all. I would not imagine the ice being the root cause. Maybe at one point somebody yanked it hard and caused it to misalign. The only other issue would be the motors, then you get into something harder.

But, I bet you it is an adjustment thing.

There should be a bolt at the base of the arm, next to the windshield. If you loosen the bolt, you should be able to freely swing the arm, and adjust it to where it sits properly (may take some trial and error to get the right spot), then tighten the bolt back down on it.

If that doesn't help it, it may be something else like a motor issue, but any time I have had the problem, that has been the cause.

wipers

Take the wipers in your hand and see if they will move up and down on the windsheild. If they do your wiper link bushing is worn or broken. Must get new parts from Acura

wipers

You can get the wiper links only instead of the hole thing for about 100.00 $I put ours on myself and saved some money.
