145 on the track. It is limited at 152.
I did 131 in my '88 Accord. Figured Mike would want to know that.

Damn 120+ you fools are crazy, Im not gonna make any attempts to test my top speed. Cause i have the worst luck, i know id get caught by the po po's.
I might consider it if i could find a track or something. But not any time soon. This is my only car.

You just gotta know the roads that are clear, I sped 1000+ times in my TL the whole 2 months I had her, and never once was I pulled over for anything. You just gotta be stealth and know the areas where the po-po seem to not exist. btw, how did some of you guys get over 120? everytime I tried, it'd struggle past 4000k in 4th gear around 115-120mph, I figured its because of the wind resistance.

215km/h (about 130), and then i though "What if a deer jumps out?", so I slowed the fvck down. It would have kept picking up speed, too... i don't need to know how much faster it will go.

Do it on the track guys, you'll be safer and you can go faster (since the road is smooth).

137mph (give or take a mile or two) between Death Valley junction and Trona on CA Rt. 178.
if you want to go really fast, those of you living out west (USA) should find good patches of straight-aways on deserted highways.
I also AVERAGED about 105-110 on Rt. 50 that goes between Carson City, Nevada and Ely, Nevada ("Lonliest road in America" and "UFO highway")
Those of us out east, where I am now, are stuck, basically hovering between the 80-100mph area, consdering speeding laws are so uptight. I think our cars were meant to be driven in that range anyway, as my car doesn't really feel comfortable (engine sounding good in a groove) until it hits 80mph.
Peace.

100-110mph over the holiday season two weeks ago, very smooth highway. Not that proud of it though, we already know these cars can easily get to that speed in a matter of seconds. But, this car has got to last me a few more years, when I'll try to pick up a used '04!!!

Beno is right, it's hard to find places to speed here on the East Coast. And he's right about the engine not feeling like it's in the groove until about 80.
The fastest I've ever gone was 95 mph, and that was on a stretch of I95 just south of Washington DC where one has to go 90 to keep up. I was cruising at about 90 and kicked it up to 95 to pass. The engine felt like it could keep going but the car was sorta beginnning to feel like it was floating. And since interstates can have potholes and surface changes without warning I decided to try any faster.
If one is going to try to drive fast, what changes should be made to the car before the attempt? What tire pressure is optimal? etc.

Heck, my '88 Accord could get up to 110 without a problem. Thats with 98 hp!
After 110 mph or so it requires more and more power to move.

I am usually not prone to doing things like this, but I got her up to 144-45'ish today. Clear stretch of highway. I only saw one car, and it seemed to be miles away. It was a rush, but I soon remembered my 6 month old daughter and decided to slow down. I want to be able to see her in the future!
