What do you like better??

Do you guys like the 1st Gen TL's better or the 2nd Gen TL's. Whatever your preference is, explain why. I personally like the 1st Gen better. I like it's roundness to it.

Isn't this survey bias? You did post it in the 1st Gen message base forum.. Personally, I like the 1st Gen becuz of the one-of-a-kind unque styling. I think as time goes on it will get more looks and admiration cuz you can't find cars like the 1st Gens anymore!

To be honest the 1st Gen is more appealing. I almost bought a 99 3.2 TL. But I saw the 1st Gen and went with that.

I like the 1st Gen for the styling, get a big rim, low it down, then you'll have one of a kind clean luxury sporty look. No need to have body kit to have a nice look with it.

I like the 2nd Gen for the performance, but you really need to pick a really nice body kit, an agressive matching big rim for it to look nice. For people with factory body kit and stock rim, it doesn't look sporty at all. For 2nd Gen, CL is a better choice.

At first i liked the 2nd gen. tls but then after i started seeing 1st. gen. TLs my preference changed, and the ferst gen. tls started to grow on me and then i ended up getting one. Like tommytl said our tls are one of a kind

You got that right. I was driving to my gf's house tonight and went side by side with a 1st Gener ..same colour ...but his car was dirty and he didn't have the clear bumper lights. We glanced for a second and then i sped off, Good thing about it was i was able to see what my car looked like while on the road ...man did it look solid!!

yeah my judegment might be a little biased, but i have driven both TL's. my mom owns a 2000 TL and i drive it once in awhile when i'm home. i like the styling and the uniqueness of the 1st gen. but i love the fact that the 2nd gen do seem more luxurious in that there is navi, sports shift, and the seats are just damnn comfy. they also have a lot bigger leg space for the people in the back. 1st gens are definately classy though and i like the fact that it can be a sleeper. people don't realize we can hold our own. people always tell me that they can't believe my car is 5 years old already. they still think it's brand new. it's a tough call, but since i do own a 1st gen, i gotta stick with my baby

Thats another good point. I was onced asked if my car is a new model TL. They didn't believe it is 97 model car! Altho its new to me (I've owned if for about 5 months now) ..still feels and drives like new!

Motor Swap

I have to say I like the Looks of the first gen better, but the motor and performance of the 2nd gen TLS.

That's true, our model does have staying power. However the level of technology in the 2nd generation was the deciding factor in my choice.

you gotta love what the designers at Acura were doing all through the 90's man... think about the Legend when it came out. Theres still luxury cars out there that resemble the 92 legend... thats such a timeless design, I would call it stylish even by todays standards.... find me a doper looking ride that was around in '92.. or maybe it was even 1991 (?) anyway our cars our dope looking... I sure hope when a 3rd generation comes around they go 'retro' and borrow some from their roots and use somethin off the 1st gen. (prolly wont happen though, but theres potential there). another question to throw at you guys... how do you all like the beefier look of the first gen RL's ?

i LOVE RL's!!! they're phuqqin baller cars, for real.... well, a "low budget" baller car lol. anyway, i hella jock RL's! they're body is as big as LS400's and S-class benz! of course there are price differences but....i personally think the comfort is the same. you hardly see fixed up RL's here in H-town... but there is this one RL, owned by a vietnamese guy who has 22's and screens up in his mofo! i was like, "got dayum!" :wow: i need another job!!!!!!! LOL how about real estate (96tl)
