Hi all, I have a 3.2TL with 157000 KM.

My car has a ringing sound from the back whenever i accelerate above 30km/hr. I had both hub assembly replaced a while ago but It didnt remove the sound. Its kind of a wor-ring-wor-ring sound that increases in frequency versus speed..

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks

It could just be voices in your head.

I would have someone drive the car and then you listen to see where in the back it is coming from so you can figure it out.

Winter tires on right now.. I'll get the brand to you

Could it be the rim? I'll check for uneven threads and get back to you.

And yes I'll have to get someone to drive and and hide in the truck and listen... I just have to find a friend I trust to drive it for a bit

Cheers

But I had both hubs replaced < 2 years..

Balanced tire. The sound at highway speed is reduced but the low speed "wor-ring" can still be heard sometimes.

My winter tire is a value brand SnowTrakker Radial ST/2. I believe it rides loud.
I'm thinking about getting new wheels and tires for the summer time.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Snow tires are suppose to hum going down the street...

That is the way my friend's are.

If you live in Montreal by some chance then I know a place where you could get good tires for good prices. Other than that look at tirerack.com and do some research on the tires that interest you.
