weird noise from trans

recently i noticed that my car makes a strange noise when rolling. i only noticed it after i was in betweed two cars on one of them small ass one-way streets in philly. i thought that it was my rotors starting to either grind or make noise. it has the exact noise of rotors with cheap brake pads that have like a rubbing/slight grinding sound. it was only when i hit the gas. also in the morning the first time i put it into gear or reverse in jumps sort of. i was thinking maybe my trans mount went until this noise started. i hope its not a trans. anyways i took the car home and jacked it up, put it in gear with my girl in the car and no noise. now it seems that it has been ever since i put my rims back on. now could the rims some how make a grinding sound? i mean i am very knowledgable with cars and thats my profession and this really stumps me. i am tempted to throw the stock 15's on the front and test drive it. if that changes the sound then i am really gonna be stumped. some how i have to put some lube in between the rims and rotor. i mean if something was wrong with the trans it would make the noise with the car in the air. unless its only when under stress load. what the f u ck could it possibly be? i did a trans filter change a year or so ago. is it time for another or should i have the trans put on the trans flush machine. so tommorrows plan is to put the 15's on and take it from there. i will keep you posted. thatnks in advance for any ideas.
