Warped Rotors? Discuss!

Just wondering if anyone has had warped rotors? I see threads all the time for the 2nd generation TL and the Legend.

If you've had them replaced or resurfaced.. how much was it?

I dont think it was a warped rotor, but see this thread by me:

http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97807

I had to have both rears resurfaced.

Ouch! Not good.

Lately my front rotors have been acting up. I've been gentle on brakes but there are so many idiots on the road i've had to do a few panic stops.

Did you get any vibration in the steering wheel from the rear discs?

my little brother just got his CL brake pads replaced a few days ago. as we arrived to pick up the car, he said that the rears need to be replace? How often do you replace rear pads?! isn't it usually the fronts that wear out a lot faster? The CL is an 01. the mechanic said the rears need replacement as well as all 4 rotors need to be resurfaced. of course obviously if you get new pads, its almost a must to resurface but shit, the whole final bill came out to 235. 235 included 4 stock acura pads, resurface 4 rotors, and labor. is that suppose to be a good deal?

235 for all four plus turning the rotors is not bad in my opinion, especially if the work is quality.

Buying the stock pads from Acura is going to already cost you around 120.

On cars with rear drum brakes, they can usually go two intervals of the front. For 4 wheel disc, I tend to replace them all since I take apart all of them to inspect. Since they are already out... Usually in my experience if the fronts need to be replaced, the rears aren't too far off anyway.

I replaced my break pads when i got my car a few months ago. I just did the fronts last weekend. One of the rear rotors was warped, and one on the front. They weren't horrible and i really didn't have time to pull em off and have them turned. I will probably do that in a month or 2. The surfaces were fine though, just a bit warped :/

if u have a shaking steering wheel when u brake that is defenite u have a warped rotor... when i first had the car it was like that... i took it to my mechanic and he ordered a new rotor for me but then that one shook like crazy too after the test drive... we came back and i told him to resurface my old rotor... slapped that sucker back on it it never shook again... i think that was about 2 yrs ago... i will probably check on my brakes this spring after the cold weather... get some drilled/slotted rotors since my rotors are on their last resurface...
