Upgrading the car's stereo
My Factory Stereo or Head unit pretty much sucks. it wont read my cds i think the laser is dead cause it always give me an error message,well id like to upgrade the stereo, i want it to be a double din, so here my question what do u think would be good idea to replace it (brands) with out costing 800-1000 bucks, and should i change the speakers and if so what kind should i put in and will i have to get an amp also?

i don't think anyone on here has a double din. i personally wouldn't get one. they are more expensive and who uses tapes now anyway?? you can get a really good HU for like 500 or so. just think about it and look around.

I have a sweet double din head unit from kenwood, I never use the cassette though. Good thing its hidden 
I paid $450. I know the owner of an electronic store back home, he hooked me up. I think it was around $800.
A lot of people think its a tv.:p

I cant scan any pictures of my head unit now because my scanner isnt working right with WIN.XP.
Heres a pic of the newer version. Mine looks real similar.
