Upgrade to 3.2TL ?
I'm thinking of upgrading from my 1996 2.5TL to a 1996 3.2TL (same colour and mileage). The 3.2 is in excellent condition.
Does anyone have any horror stories that would persuade me to not take this step?
Also, I have brand new 205-60-15's on my 2.5, which I would like to use on the 3.2 (which uses 205-65-15's OEM). Would there be any negative effects in doing so?

hey puch,
i personally like the 3.2 better.. hehe
but seriously... why upgrade from 2.5 to 3.2?
how much more would it cost i mean?
there really isn't much difference between the two..
maybe if you can sell the 2.5 for more than what you pay for the 3.2, i guess
but if you're gonna have to shel out an extra $2000 or so for the 3.2, i say just get some mods, or maybe just save the money to buy a newer car in the future
but then that's just my 2 cents.. u don't have to listen to me... no one ever does

No No NO No No, you gotta stay with the 2.5!!! hahaha. honestly there's not much of a difference between the 2.5 and the 3.2. you should, like all these other people said, just buy some mods with that money.
In general the cars look the same, but there's more diff. than you think:
Leather seating was standard in the 3.2TL and optional in the five-cylinder 2.5TL. Depending on model years etc. there was TCS and variable intermittent wipers.
A firmer suspension went into the 2.5TL. Due to the heavier front end of the 3.2 there are differecens in suspensing components.
Some minor body work differences on the cars: grills and wheels come to mind.
Engines
ohc I5 ohc V6
Size, liters/cu.in. 2.5/152 3.2/196
Horsepower 176 200
Torque (lbs/ft.) 170 210
EPA mpg(city/hwy) 20/25 19/24
I've owned both and currently own a 3.2, the 2.5 seems to have a quicker throttle response at the begining, but the extra cu.in. of the 3.2 catch-up rather quick and has more in the long run.
I would guess that the 2.5 might be quicker to 30mph - justa guess though. Once at 30 mph the 3.2 would pull away.
