As promised... here are the pics of a 1998 Acura 2.5 TL Trunk Light...

If your's isn't working, the bulb might have gone bad... see the little plastic thing... just take it off, its the same thing like the inside lights... you just need to unhook it... I'm not sure what type of bulb it is... i'll have to check it out some other time when i'm not lazy...

NO NO NO NO!!! you said it yourself... if you go check the bulb if its burnt out and you put another one in there it will burn out either way... Why??? you said it yourself hommie... "dealer mentioned something about faulty wireing??" SOOO, first thing you should do is follow your wires to their source... from the little lamp to where ever they are getting power from... its going to take a whole day because you will need to take all the wire protector/cover off and all the tape and when you are done might have to put it back...

A simple fix would be to cut the wire that the lamp has and put a simple fuse in there... like that when your light goes, the one taking the hit will be your fuse and not your bulb... BUT!!! the problem with this is that you will not be buying no more bulbs, but you will be buying 1,000,000,000,000,000's of fuses until you find the "faulty wireing"... I'd just take a weekend and follow the wires to check if you aren't getting a short circuit somewhere...

Now if it doesn't really bother you and you don't want to bother with it... then just leave it as is... its to much trouble to go through just for a dumb light in the trunk...
