When my car is cold and i shift from parking to reverse or drive, the whole car gets a strong kick for some reason, Also when transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd gear it also kicks.
The funny thing is that the kicks seem to go away when the car is worm.
Anybody knows why this is happening?

My '98 is making a slight grinding sound when it shifts out of first, once in a while. Sounds like I ran over a plastic bottle or something.

I just bought the car so I'll have them look at it I suppose, unless there is a quick fix/answer.

 

yeah, i have always gotten that kick too...have always wondered about it, but thought it was just the car....or my driving??? anyone get annoyed with their radiator/fan coming on at idle?

 

hahahaha. I hate that so bad. Even when I turn off the car and the fan runs for 10 minutes, people alway ask me if its supposed to do that.

 

arrghh....i think all the yrs. of abuse on my car are starting to take their toll... she gets really moody sometimes....sometimes i feel like she's riding on air...sometimes i think she's about to fall apart.....i think it's mental.

 

yeah, i really hate the fan coming on like that. i people asking me about it all the time too. it's really annoying. yeah, my car is having that transmission thing too. i would really like to know what it is. it might be the spark plugs and wires. if anyone finds out let us all know.

 

honda trannys suck thats why they do that. mine just like everyones has those kicks also

 

yeah i agree, they aren't the best...My dad's Altima has a 10 X better tranny...
