Trailer hitch ???
Trailer hitch ???
Has anyone out there found and installed a trailer hitch on their first gen TL?
I have a hitch mounted bike rack as well as a hitch mounted cargo box I would like to use, but according to every parts store up here, nobody makes a hitch for first gen TLs.
I find that hard to believe. If I could find a hitch for my 90 Integra, you would think that the much bigger and more powerful TL would be able to tow a lot more, and therefore I could find a damn hitch SOMEWHERE...

You have a few options for the hitch:
- Cliff sells one, and there is a guy that has one on Ebay: Search for auction 220017655929. Cliff only uses one forward mounting bolt for a total of 2 on each side.
- I think it was Load Rite that used to make one (and this one has two forward bolt holes (you remove the tiedown bracket).
-The third option is to search for hitches for the VIGOR. They bolt right in.
I have a pix of my TL towing a trailer with my quad on it.
The hitch will have a drop where the muffler/pipes are.
Bolts right to the frame.
Mine came off a Vigor from the junk yard. Had the receiver insert in it, and it was/is rusted in there hard. After my trip, I have tried to get the sucker out, and it is rusted in solid. I have to cut a hole in the backside and press it out...

Let's see if I can get this right...

This pix makes it appear squatting more than it really was. I have another pix of this where it is not squatting as much. Couple reasons it is:
- Dip on the other side of asphalt
- Bunch of beer and water in the vehicle
Since this pix, I have lowered it. This setup ran great down the highway. Handled really nice - even at West Virginia Highway Speeds.

Again, in my research, the mfr's were pretty limited, Curtis and Draw Tite (as I recall) were the only two that I could find. Draw Tite used both of the bolts from the existing tie down brackets, Curtis only used one.
