Unhappy totaled her out

Well...we all know about the recent rampage of tornadoes that recently hit. I was affected by these a tree fell on my car and damaged it, not to mention the hail damge to the entire car. The winshield was supposed to be fixed but two days later the cracks showed back up and are now spiraling accross my winshield. After my sweet phone calls for a week and a half, an insurance adjuster came today and told me my car has been declared totaled...yup. I've never had this happen. The car is completely repairable. I was advised id get a phone call tomorrow to talk more about it. The car is paid off. Yes, I will be buying it back. Please can someone give me advice that has maybe been through this. And what do you think I will get for my 1998 3.2 Tl with 132k on it. I only have a $200 deductible...lol thanks!

BUY IT BACK!!!!

I got around $6k for my 97 3.2 base with around 142k miles and I bought it back for less than $500.

Price is going to vary depending on area, zip code, state etc.

I hope to get close to $6k for it with a low buy back option. I will have her completely repainted and fixed with some new goodies yea I just lowered her...I've got the stock tl wheels sitting on my front porch...wish I could sell them along with all my other jeep parts lying around.

Tmnhs81: what do you think about the title? How then will it look or be changed? What do I need to do to clearly specify only hail damage. Will it be a reconstructed title? What about future insurance on the vehicle?

Not sure how it works in Tennessee but in California once insurance totals a car out and you buy it back, you have to go through bunch of inspections after repairing the car. Once you repair the car you check with DMV, they will give you temporary tags and some paperwork to have brake and lamp inspection done and also smog inspection too. Once you have all that done and the car passes then you have to check with DMV again to get your new tags and plates. It is required to surrender your old plates to DMV AFAIK. Don't know how it works with personalized plates though.

You'll get new plates, and it will be a salvage title. That's terrible to hear, though. Good luck.

~Cheers~

Well...they sent me a check after I bought it back...im headed out Monday to get some estamates to get her fixed. I only have to go to the dmv and get a salvaged title. That's it. My insurance company also said after its fixed send in pictures and I can keep my full coverage. I only have three major boo boos. I just ordered my jdm inspire front grill. When it gets here im going to completely debadge her. Im still looking for jdm inspire tails.
