I was thinking about putting a 10-inch sub as my mid-bass in my doors. What do you think?
No, actually I have a pair of 6.5 Rockfords and wanna put them in the doors but I have fitment issues. I will get the "adapter" ring thing to fit my doors but I believe the speakers will extrude alot. And the diameter is much bigger.....What do I do?
My old Civic I just cut out the needed space and looked like shaits.....

10" in doors is insane

the adaptor ring is what you need. either that or you just cut out the bottom part of the plastic housing of the stock 5.25 speakers. what i suggest is just have a mdf baffle cut for your 6.5s

5.25"? Mine were stock 6.5"... All I'd have to do is cut all but the bolt ring and it'll fit my Pioneers. Only thing is that my speaker magnet actually attaches itself to the door frame, hehe.

Did some TL's come with 6.5" speakers and some came with 5.25"? Searching online for my car it always turns up those 2 results and I ordered 6.5" to replace my door speakers and it sucked because I had to return them and get the smaller size. How come some people have different sizes?

6.5's were the only door speakers for the 1st gen TL

Hmmm...maybe my car is different because the 6.5's didn't fit at all and the 5.25's fit perfectly.

Curiouser and curiouser... Will try a test fitting tonight with 5.25s. Took them out of my 3G Accord last night since they picked her up this morning... Ima made tanoshikatta na, Erina-chan!! Jaa ne...

Erina is my old 3G Accord HB. To quote my brother, "Three inches too low, 50 decibels too loud, but fun as hell through the turns!" I didn't have too good acceleration on a straight off the line, but through a turn, that's where she shone! You can thank severe negative camber for that!! Haha! Anyhow, the 5.25" fit, but it just looked weird with all the white of the basket around it, so I said screw it and threw in the 6.5"s. Now I have 4-ways up front with no deck to drive them... I'll post a pic of my Accord as we loaded her up on the flat bed.
