tints = done (finally)
Mandy- you have a very elegant, understated ride. How many miles on it?
Your car looks sooo good! Black with silver accents - perfect!
What did you do with the rear window? Because at the beginning of this thread other people were talking about putting vinyl on the dot matrix thing, so what did you do with it? Mind posting a pic of the rear?

Oh duh...88k miles...my bad.
I'm pushing 190,000 on my green machine and at 200,000 miles I will take pics to flaunt how one can keep a car looking and driving as if it were showroom new after 12 years. I'm a firm believer in maintaining dependable old cars. And the first gen TL is just as dependable as they get.

So I finally got tints done - 30 back and 50 front. I wish I could go even darker but the front is already illegal. I have a tiny problem though; the rear glass is covered in tiny bubbles. It's been only a week since I had the windows tinted and the weather is kinda crappy, but I am beginning to worry that the bubbles will not go away. Anyone had similar experiences?

Actually the problem is not with the dot matrix - the guy who tinted the windows put a piece of vinyl over it. The bubbles are actually scattered all over the rear glass which is the reason why I am worried.
That means he reapplied the tint too many times. Happened to the passenger side of the rear window the second time I had it tinted. The guy was in a rush, but it was free so I don't really care. It's a small area, too, and it's hard to notice unless you're looking directly at it.
Mine has the bubbles on the dot matrix...but it is stuck and have not moved or increased in bubbles, the guy says, bring it back if it does, it is lifetime warranty, if he's stiil in business, I hope so.
i used to have 5% all around on my 4doorDC-GSR , in california people always drive with their windows down and the only time that it is up is usually night time and 15% looks like 5% at night time .. other than that, i never got a ticket

The dot matrix is a bitch.
