For those interested in an intake...

Just got my 3" cone filter today and installed it on my 3.2

Check out my gallery, it was an ok install, used only a 3" to 3" rubber adapter, it fit perfectly, the stock tubing must be 3" because I barely got it to fit. It sounds AMAZING, around 4k rpm its just a beast, Im curious to hear from the outside. I reccomend this to everyone, I spent $30 total on everything including shipping on the filter. Got the adapter from home depot. Took roughly 20 mins for install due to the tight fit on the stock tubing. I noticed quite a gain in the higher rpms. It will NOT work w/o an extension as ive done, the powersteering pump does interfere.

Just out of curiousity, what year/trim level is your car?

Your engine looks slightly different from my 3.2

I have a 97 premium.

I have a 96 Premium... Its odd, cause I think the layout changed after 96, cause someone said to use a 3" to 2" adapter for the stock intake tubing, and that was out of the question on mine.

The intake box looks the same. In fact, everything about the engine should be the same

On my engine it says "3.2"

Yours says 3200

Also did you paint the 'V6' label on your engine? mine isnt red.

Thats cool. Reason i'm asking is i've only seen that paint scheme and "3200" mark on the Legend Type II engines. They had 230 hp and a different intake system.

Interesting.... could it be I have that engine??? it'd be great to have 30 extra hp than I thought, I plan on dyno'ing my car in the next few months to see what it puts to the ground.

Its unlikely, but would be nice

Maybe they just kept the same "style" from the Legends for '95 and
96. I've only looked under the hood on '97 and '98 TL's so that might be case.

I can't, TCS is in the way of things and I dont know how to make a tube that will work with it.

But this will do for now, im not really big on appearance, I care more about the power and sound, and it does the job for now.

My engine looks like Kamlung's.

I'll have to do that intake mode next month, i bet the engine sounds sweet with it.

Premium is referring to the premium package that was available on both the 2.5 and 3.2

On the 2.5 it gave you leather, sunroof and other things.

On the 3.2 it gave you heated leather seats, traction control and lots of fake wood trim.
