those with HID kits

anyone have to replace a bulb yet? I had one go out on me last week.
I installed a 5700k Hanabi kit about 2 years ago... I would rather replace both bulbs (H4 right?) with a pair of 6000k's, as I assume you get a slight discount for buying in pairs.

so far I've only been directed to xenondepot.com and am looking at 160 bucks per bulb for Philips, and 100 bucks per bulb for a cheaper kind (Xtreme)

any suggestions? should I use ebay?

You can always go used if you trust the forum members. If it's bulbs though, I usually buy brand new. Try jus4bulbs@yahoo.com. He's a Taiwan seller who everyone in my other forum buys from. I remember if you mention forum members refered you, he will give them to you for something like $255 shipped(money order) or $272 shipped(paypal). These are brand new from him and Philips.

I believe he provides all for the custom bulbs. OEM bulbs are definitely both D2R and D2S but check with him on the custom ones for your 1st Gen.

D2S bulbs are made for those headlight housings that have projectors (3rd Gen TL, TSX, etc.). Our 1st Gens should use the D2R for reflector based housing. Our stock bulbs are H4's, so make sure that you either keep the stock blinder or that your HID bulbs have them. I bought a set of McCullogh 8000K's and couldn't be happier. I have had them for about 4 years now and they are still going strong.

Yeah they are pricey, but i'd pay the extra money to be safe with brand name. 6000k is on demand so... if you buy brand new 5000k bulbs, I got those a while back on ebay for $75 bucks + shipping ~$80 (Philips Pair). They were almost stock looking but somewhat different with a little more white than yellow.

I got the stocks and the 9006 fog conversion. The stock 5000k D2R/D2S bulbs are always on ebay brand new for $75+shipping. The 9006 and other custom bases pop up occasionally brand new. I'm not sure what the 1st Gen TL uses but i'm certain they show up at times. Right now is an aight deal for Philips 4300K and 5000K bulbs. $118.88 + $8 shipping. Not the best i've seen.

I was going to go McCulloch HID's but I hear mixed reviews about em so it seems like 50/50 chance of good or bad. Decided to go Philips instead. I dunno any 8000k companies but I do know their light output is pretty bad. Just the look of the housing that's good.
