..do you or have you had your air bags checked? I noticed on our visor, driver side, that has a little note that suggest us to get our air bags checked after 10 yrs. Anybody plan on doing this? Actually I can't remember if it says to check the air bags or abs..?

you are supposed to check them after 10 years especially if they have never been deployed to ensure that the mechanism still works and may not be possibly stuck... spend the money and get it checked for your piece of mind... even if it is a beater, it can save your life since you are driving it every day as to opposed as to once or twice a week...

I wonder what they do to check the SRS. Do they just plug a computer into a diag port and check for codes or do they pull the whole thing out and physically inspect them?

it probably should be free. and yes, i think they do just hook it up. unless you've taken it apart, all the mechanisms should still work in the SRS. they only real problem could be wiring/electrical, which they could hook up to see.
