I wasn't that impressed. The car looked awesome, that pretty pearl white, with tan leather. But it felt like a boat compared to my 3.2
It didn't feel like 0-60 in 6.6 seconds, and it had really bad oversteer.
Maybe it was just this one, but it made me like my car a lot more.

You should of test drove the 3G TL I'm very curious about that one, the 2g SUCK BALLS who wants to be interested in those.

P.S. Sister has a 2G Type-S, friend has a 3G Type-S, sat in a dealer 4G, still love my 1G. I like their colour choices, though.

 

I wouldnt even be looking at newer cars, if mine got better gas mileage.
And there's a big price difference between 2g and 3g. I'm a poor kid, lol.

If you really going to sell it and don't need four door, may I suggest earlier E46 328ci or E36 328ci? Manual only though, autos are crap.

im pretty sure AZine makes up 1% or less of TL's on the road..

its probably less than 1 in 10 cars that have had failed transmissions...
there are plenty that come through my dealer that have 200k+ with zero issues..

I see a new thread pop up in 2nd gen forums about failing transmission every other week. Its a ticking time bomb as Ken said and that is the only reason I didn't buy one when my first gen got totaled. (I lied, second reason is parking brake in foot )

 

people find acurazine because of failing transmissions. they are searching for answers and end up finding this acura forum which has a 2nd gen specifific forum.. (if you search Failing TL transmission, acurazine is one of the search answers)

most of the threads i see are "help, my transmission is going out" and most of them have a post count of 1

kinda makes sense why the failed ones end up here doesnt it?

i've seen very normal users of the site complain about tranny going out in the 2 years i've been here.... (sure some long time members have had failures too)

if you find a well maintained 2nd Gen TL for a decent price, its a great car.
exterior styling is beautiful , j32/j32A is a rock solid motor...

knowing what i know now, i would have still bought my TL.. i got it at a great price, and had ZERO issues with my tranny. an all-around great car.

If you truly don't want it I say sell it for 4200 because I bought mine for 2800 thats almost double my money.

 

Nothing a bigger rsb and springs cant fix. I had a CL-S 6spd and i actually found the TL to be more balanced than the CL-S due to the fact that there is less weight over the front wheels. I've always loved the blue TL-S. My CL-S was the blue with bronze volk SE-37A's.

 

That's a good offer. If you really want to get rid of it then sell it for that price. I bought mine in January 2008 with 110k miles on it, clean title for $4400.

4 of my friends got 2G TL, 3 of them got problems with transmission

 

First off all for you dumb asses, who are homo, noone said "you needed a car to pick up a FEMALE". I said with a 2nd GEN TL you "would" pick more females rather than driving in a FIRST GEN.

Note: For both cars STOCK/ O.E.M side by side.....the 2nd GEN would win hands down.

I hate when you internet guys act like "oh u dont need a car to pick up girls" and if so your sad, like STFU. You guys know for those of you who actually got girls around your town, females break their necks for nicely modded cars....and like I said as for a 1st GEN side by side with a 2nd GEN. The 2nd GEN would win. Thats all.........

And all you guys really got is the Tranny issue against 2nd GEN TL's and believe it or not if they didnt have Tranny issues most of guys here would have had one.

Seriously? I don't think so you need a car to pick up girls. For example, one of my cousins drive a 2000 Accord with 225k miles on it. Shit is literally falling apart. On top of that he got those fake fender vents, ugly blue lights for inside and some other crap and he picks up girls just fine (a lot of them). Before that he used to drive a late 90's Mitsubishi Mirage coupe with faded paint. Same story as before, he had chicks to his left and right all the time.

I have to agree with everyone in a way. I do believe that the first gen is a much classier car than the second gen. I also have to agree with the fact that one does not need a fancy car to pick up women because I know dudes with bus passes that get more pussy than others with cars. Sure a car helps but it's not everything.

On another note I'll have to say that the second gen is more modern looking which is more appealing to women because they like flashy whereas the first gen is very inconspicuous. Like-minded people buy the same types of cars so that's why most 1st gen owners would never consider a "flashy" car like the second gen and vice versa.

Alright dumbass, here are some facts:

The first gen TL cost $8000 more than the 2nd gen TL. So right there it puts the car in a different price bracket. Combine that with some inflation and you're probably closer to a $10,000 price difference over the 4 years.

Second, the 1st gen TL is older, meaning fewer cars are on the road.

Third, it appealed to a different demographic. In fact, several 1st gen TL owners I personally know are the original owners, they still have them. They might poke around online but they are not on Acurazine hopping onto the picture gallery.

Now, lets all be nice. Our TLs (except those ugly 4G TLs) are great vehicles and we should all be proud.
