Suspension Being Installed Today

Hey fellas I am one of the old dinosaurs to this board. Just wanted to give you folks an update.

I dropped off my car today to get the following done:

Eibach Pro Kit 1.2" in Front and 1" in Rear
Tokico Shocks All Around
Gab Strut Tower Bar
Two new Steering Tie Rods

Let you know how the car rides after I pic it up in about 2 hours.

My mechanic is pretty friendly with me, he is charging me $100 for the install and then Parts for the steering tie rods (125 Each) and installation and allignment so the total bill is $500. I am supplying all the suspension parts. I dont think that is too bad.

What do you folks think?

Next week possibly, he will be putting in my Reverse Indiglo Gauges, Japanese spec Headlights with the black housing, Inspire Tails, and my HID Kit from a 2003 TL. Gotta see what the fundage situation is going to look like for next week...LOL.

i think you'd have to realign your headlights after the hid's go on. to do so, you'll prob need to align those bubble things above your headlight. otherwise, you'd blind people. oh and it wont be as bright as on an actual 03 headlight b/c of that foil looking thing inside the headlights. its just weird that way.. let me know on how the cornering is once you install your springs and that strut bar. i bet you can make really tight turns!! test them out by out running a cop =oD

It's easy to outrun a cop.

It's outrunning them all and the helicopter too that's tough.

Can I ask how much all of the suspension parts costed?

How did u get a hold of all your JDM parts? I don't think that the price for all the work is a bad one at all, seems like quite a bit of work. Id like to see pics of your car, especially the brakes. Who makes them by the way?

Ok Folks.

I had all the items installed.

It was quite funny. As they were lowering the car on the lift, I kept saying to myself ok it should stop going down now, but the car kept dropping. We had to lift the car a bit to push the jack lifts in cause the car was resting on the lift. The drop looks pretty drastic to me. I got the Eibach Pro Kit which said roughly a 1" drop all around, to me it looks like 2". The Tokico shocks I had bought from this site. I dont see it offered here anymore for the 2.5, but I think I spend $245 for the whole set. THe Eibach Pro Kit I spent $200 on, and the Strut Tower Bar I had purchased from Value's site about 2 years ago, dont recall what I paid for it. He is no longer in business anymore, otherwise I would have bought the factory lip from him.

The car does handle really good, just a little too low for my taste, I feel like saying "Make is Jump Homes Make it Jump"...LOL. It corners very well, I have been taking turns that I normally take at 50 mph with alot of lean in the car, now I can take them at 70 to 75mph without any hesitation. Oh yea I do need a Chamber kit. I have to order one now, cause I belive I have Negative Chamber meaning the top of the wheels in tucking inside the fender wells. Prolly getting that delivered in about 2 weeks and have it installed and then get the car re-aligned.

Steering tie rods are installed, first they ordered the wrong ones from the 3.2 and my front wheels were toed in. Then they noticed it was about 1" longer than my ones, so they got the correct parts and now all is well. However, my rack is making a slight noise, I think one of my gears in the Rack and Pinion is gone. For a new one they want $500 and for a used one they want $150, so I guess I will be going for the used one and get that installed next week. I will try to take pics this weekend of the car. Just will need some help posting them on there.

Talk to you guys later.

my 3.2 is about as high as my accord. and i dropped the accord like 2.5" and i think it's fine. you gotta angle in and out of places and slow down a lot more but it isn't that bad. Camber kit isnt a bad idea to get either, after i dropped my accord it has about -2.6 degrees in the front. the guy from the alignment said it wasn't bad for a lowered car but it'll show tread wear. he also said if i get a camber kit it isn't possible to get it back to a perfect 0 degree's but it'll help .

I know visually the car looks too low to me. Perhaps if I put some 18's on it, it may look better than my stock rims. I do love the way the car handles. I do however, want to get fatter sway bars but no one has them, so I may go to a machine shop and see if i can get some fabricated. Slowly but surely I will get what I want. Its just everything costs money and since I got bills I have to budget myself...lol. But I would say within the next two months I should have the Chamber Kit and perhaps the Sway Bars installed. Just gotta do some research. Let you guys know when it all falls into place.
