I was looking at the inspire tail lights and instead of paying 300 bucks for a pair i was wondering if i could just take the factory apart and take out the amber. Me and my friend did this to his 97 lude, but the tail light on his came apart easily. I've put headlights in the oven to heat the seal up enough to pull it apart to clean them and stuff but i was wondering if anyone has done this with their tails? Any help would be appreciated before i mess my stockers up.

 

I am pretty sure that someone here has done this, but he said that the part you remove the amber from doesn't really match the rest of the tail light. I was going to do it, but passed.

I think I am going to tint some/all of my taillight instead. I'll keep you guys posted.

 

yes someone has done it but said it looks nasty with the bulb all bare. if u wanna go cheaper try to paint the amber, ummm ken i think painted his and it looks great. (sorrie if u did it and are not ken im not sure )

As a brokeass college student, I took the cheap route and cleared the tail light through the oven method. In my opinion, it does not look bad. Im satisfied with the result.
