Hi,
I just got my 97 2.5 TL premium today. The damn stereo is locked and says code.

Is the code unique to each car. Or is there a standard code that willl unlock all of them.

If there is one code can someone please post it or email me at wscottwilliams@home.com

It is unique for each car. There should be a little card with the number on it. If not..then you can go to your dealership for the code, and it should cost you nothing!

 

you know...on some model TLs...if you pull your ash tray out (just grab it tight, and pull it out (it just unplugs/slides out) Since I know a lot of you have coin holders in there, I'd take the coins out....but turn it upside down and check to see if there is a sticker with a set of (i think) 5 numbers on it. If there is, that's your stereo lock code. Good luck!

I got the stereo out.
It was suprizingly easy.

just pop out the woodgrain and then take out 4 screws and bam its out..

Had to use the serial number off of the back of the radio.
my code is 31655

umm.... you know, you probably wanna delete that code.... it should be "private" to you!!!

otherwise if i come and steal your audio i can use it

 

haha who cares, no one wants the crappy stock HU anyways....it's big and yucky and big and yucky.....hehehe
