stereo question (Pioneer 7500)

I've noticed there is a lot of knowledge about stereos here.. figured I'd ask I recently put in a Pioneer 7500 ( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...986137,00.html ) Anyways, it was fine at first but then it began to flash from black to a white screen. I can read the display when it does this, but the colors are reversed.. and really it's just annoying. A friend has the same stereo and he says his does this too and it's normal.. Iit's just funny it didn't do it at first and I don't remember the display model at Best Buy doing this. I'm hoping I just wired something wrong..

Anyone know for sure?.. Thanks

-Sam

The head unit installed in my car is a JVC KD-LH3150, and this deck has a feature where you can decide if you want the LCD polarity?...to be positive(white backround, black lettering) or negative(black backround, white lettering).

Just check the menu options. If still in doubt, I bet the owner's manual will tell you what's goin on.

Hope this helps.

Yeah that sounds like what it is.. flops back and forth though.. I've read the manual a bunch of times and see nothing about this. Fiddled with the motion (off and on), brightness, dimmer (on and off), different screensavers..

There's a feature on my deck where you can choose wheather you want it on positive or negative, and there's auto.(which is what seems to be happening to you.) Maybe you can't change it.. oh well. it still looks cool

Well here I .. well a fella on a local board actually.. figured it out! Here's what he said:
when the stereo is off and the key is in the "on" position just press 5 and you will hear a beep. thats all, no menus or anything.. its called Demo mode or something. press 5 once again to turn it back on (i don't know why you woudl want to). its at the VERY beginning of the manual in case you want to look it up yourself, i believe right after the table of contents.
He was right.. it's in the manual and called Reverse Mode.. and I read the thing 3 or 4 times and missed it

Thanks for the replies.
