Starter replaced? HOW MUCH?
Starter replaced? HOW MUCH?
So I noticed a lot of people are getting ripped off for a starter replacement. Its not a hard job, doesn't demand more than 5-7 tools. Its just a tedious SOB to get out because all the other parts in the way. Overall if I do it again, on a same vehicle as mine, it would take me 2 hours. It cost me about $140 for a new starter after returning my old one, and I also had to replace the intake manifold because I accessed it trough the top, instead of getting underneath.
Labor was done on my own with help from a friend of mine. Same mechanical knowledge. If anyone leaves in the area let me know and ill lend a helping hand, just look up the 831 area code.
How much was your fix? did you pay a sum dude? or on your own?

The starter on a 2.5 can be replaced by reaching in from the driver side in front of the master brake. Get the two bolts that hold it off then maneuver it over to get the electrical connections off. Will slip out in front a bad around the master cylinder.
