Angry Starter Has Officially Died

monday my starter has officially went out, when i had went to college monday morning, then i had a 45 mn break between classes so i went to the house and to get a snack, let me remind you that its been clicking for like a month now but i just kept on holding it off until i saved up enough money, i'm just 18 and in college, so back to the story, i finish my snack and get back in the car to go back to school. I TURN THE KEY, NOTHING HAPPENS, I MEAN NO NOISE, NO CLICK, NO NOTHING. I'M SCREAMING MAD OUT OF MIND CAUSE SCHOOL STARTS IN LIKE 10 MIN. so i had to get a cash advance on my credit card, (so much interest) i'm not too mad cause my friend who i graduated with works at the Acura dealer and he can get the starter for 250 and charge me a hundred, so i'm just out of 350. but i gotta get taken everywhere by my girlfriend :p which isnt that bad, by the way my car only got 105k miles on it

I READ THE IGNITION POST BELOW, I SURE HOPE ITS NOT THAT, AND NOT THE STARTER, HOW CAN YOU TELL, any info would be greatly appreciated

I had the same thing, but mine was more sudden. I have a 96 3.2 over about 1 week mine went from working fine to nothing and in that transition period it would not even click (like normal starters that I've encountered). This sounds like the starter and that's about the mileage that I had when mine went out.

Our starter died on our 98 3.2 TL at somewhere around 90k miles. I don't really remember any posts about starters, so it must not be a big problem. I was disappointed that the starter went out that early for a car this nice. I think it cost me about $600 to have it replaced.

My starter started acting up at 66k....decided to change it before it dies on me. Cost me over $200 for the parts. Friend mechanic helped me install it. Its a pain to do yourself. You need to remove the driver side axel to get the starter out. Dealer was charging me over $600 to do this.

Pain in the butt, not kidding! Mine diead at about 150000 kms (about 95k miles). Acura wanted $680 for the part alone!! (cdn $, like 460 US $), got the original one rebuilt in a day, did it myself for a total of $260 including fron brake pads (have a friend who lets me work on my car at his shop this REALLY helps). Mine was doing the same thing, clicking for about a month, then I changed it before it died. I missed my remote starter. haha, that's the main reason why I fixed it!! ANYWAYS, YES Pain in the BUTT to replace, dirvers axle has to come out, and top bolt is a PAIN IN THE F$%@#'n A@#!! to get to!!!
