I don't know what the problem might be, but my car is making a noise. Its a squealing noise which sounds like its coming from the driver side front area. I can't pinpoint the exact area, as the noise is only there while the car is moving.
It comes and goes as well.

Brake rotors look fine (read: no scraping/pitting) as well.

 

Hmm, I really don't know, its the sort of thing that is tough to diagnose over the internet. I used to have some really harsh squealing when slowing down, there was rust build up on the outer edge (facing the road, not the edge the pad contacts) that I had to chip off.

Right now I have a squeak in the front end, but its something in the suspension, I don't know what it is yet, just something needing to be lubed I imagine, just havn't taken the time to do it. Only happens over bumps and around turns, smooth ground is perfectly quiet.

 

Yea, the noise is really annoying. High pitched and pretty much constant as you keep moving. Actually, it goes away sometimes for a few seconds on its own and sometimes if you tap the brakes.

The best description of the sound would be to imagine a pig making squealing noises, but at a very high pitch level and decently loud.

 

inside cabin or does it appear to be coming fro mthe outside. my car suffers from the same symptoms hopefully u have the same problem i do and its nothing major. In my car at least that noise is coming fro mthe passenger side door. this happens (in my case) when the door cover ( inside of door- faux leather and window controls etc.) gets a lil loose i give it a couple taps it normally goes back into place and no more squaeking . Try checking your doors to see if any are loose i f u fell one of the little holders snap into place or move in a lil more im pretty sure that will solve ur problem

 

my sister's integra has the same symptoms as your TL and she took it to the Acura Dealer and they say it's because she needs new ball-bearings. she hasn't fixed it cuz they're charging her an arm and a leg for the ball-bearings & labor.

so everytime i ride in her car... there's a high pitch sound coming from the engine bay and it's only when the car is moving. once she gets past like 5mph that's when the sound kicks in. and yes it is annoying!!

you might want to check the ball-bearings??

 

If the car needs bearings, GET THEM. The TL's have a recall for the rear bearings. Had mine replaced already free of charge. There was no recall for the front, but as the bearing wear, they will wear themselves out progressively faster and ultimately can cause loss of control of the vehicle (that would be an EXTREME case after ignoring the problem for WAY too long, but it could happen). If you tap the brakes and it goes away, you might just need new pads. If there was no anti-squeel applied the last time you changed your pads, they can rub against the rotor, and if they are worn enough, the wear indicator will squeel. I would check that out first.

 

sounds like the ball bearings to me. My pop had the same problem with his Lexus...you should get it checked and if it is the bearings then get it fixed or else u'll regret it bro.

i have a 97 3.2 tl and mine does the same exact thing only on the front passenger side and its not coming from the interior. it only happens when im going into a turn pretty fast or if i go over a harsh bump. the sound is really loud and annoying. mine sounds like a squealing pig but with a more metallic twang to it if you know what i mean. first time it happened it scared the crap out of me. i thought it was some alarm that was going off in my car, it was that high pitched and loud. i can only get it to stop if i slow to <30 mph. im not worried about it but it really embarassing when other ppl are in the car. let me know how you fix it.

my guess is that it is the brakes.

According to what my mechanic said, if it were the bearings, u would hear more of a "groaning" or "drone" - a much more low pitched sound.

ball bearings = wheel bearings?

This has been going off and on for the past few weeks. It started proabably 3 weeks ago, made noise for a week, stopped making noise for 2 weeks, and is now starting up again.

This sucks. I'm at college and the closest Acura is 1 hr away. Back home, Acura was a 5 minute drive down the street. Poo.
