Speaker size on 2.5TL??

Hey guys, I tried to search this but couldn't find anything..

I have a 96 2.5TL and will be replacing all of my speakers. I was taking a look at front speakers and found that the size is 6 3/4, does anyone know if 6 1/2 will fit? I'm having trouble finding 6 3/4.

Thanks!

I just took a look at crutchfield, and they state that it's 6 1/2 and 6 x 9. Thanks!

Front: IIRC 5 1/2 are the stock size of the speaker...
Upgrade: There is no space for the magnet's basket of 6 1/2" speakers in the whole that the OEM speakers were in... so you will need an adapter... It pushes the speaker about 1/2 out so the magnet's basket doesn't need to go into the speaker hole... The adapter should come with the required longer screws... Its a kit you can get at your local Audio store...

When I have time I'll see if I can pry my doors apart again and take a picture...

I had to cut the door lining just to be safe that the speaker didn't rub on it...

I think I remember having these problems with the first TL. I will probably try it out this weekend and see what's in there.

6.5" speakers will fit but you have to do a mod to the plastic case that is holding the factory speaker in it.

P.S. I'm back!

P.S.S. To the Mods THE SITE UPGRADES LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
