So I installed chrome rings and D4 light...

I ordered that chrome ring set that another member posted. He put indigo overlays behind his. I left mine stock, which is black.

While i was there, I swapped the D1 light with the D4 light. Ever since I bought the car, the D4 light has been blown.

My question is....

Now when I turn my key over, the Park Light lights up and the D4 light on the gauge panel. The d4 light goes away within a few seconds. Everything operates fine after that.

Is this a normal startup thing for these cars?

Thanks

Darn you!! I ordered chrome rings last week and have yet getting them in the mail. If I don't get it by tomorrow, I'm going to complain!!

Ok...I'm done ranting. Your D4 light will light up for a few seconds because that light is a diagnostics for the tranny. If there's a malfuntion of the tranny, then the light will flash letting you know.

Oh yeah...speaking of the chrome rings, you can take the front clear cover off to put the rings on, right?? How long did it take you to do it??

Didn't take long at all. Took my time though.

Had to take the entire gauge cluster out, just unplugged all of the 4 plugs in the back of in the instrument panel.

Once you have it out, the clear plastic comes off easily. I think it looks great. It is subtle but flows very well with the rest of the interior.

Yea, I had to buy the whole set. I could not find the rings by themselves either.

I thought I was getting a descent deal with the bid at 9.99, but he KILLS you with shipping and handling.

Anyway, it looks good.

Now I have some metal guages that don't have the gear indicator spot cut out as a paperweight.

Awesome!! I just got it in the mail and put them in. They look amazing!!! It only took me about 15 minutes to take out and put back. It's one of the easier mods that I've done. I also got the plate and the rings too. Oh well...the plate is in the trash now.
