Thumbs down Smoking brakes?!

Hey all:

Just got my brakes redone the other day (yesterday actually) and I drove from Cleveland to Atlanta the same day. I got to Atlanta and got stuck in traffice for ever (what else is new) and when I got to my mother's house, I noticed that the front brakes were smoking and hot as hell--the back ones were not smoking but were insanely hot too, and it's not even Hotlanta today--mild, int he sixties...I assume this isn't good This never happened before.

The specs: Brembo rotors (brand new) up front, Axxis pads all round, and new aftermarket (Honda put them on) on the rear. (1997 2.5TL standard)

Any help is highly appreciated as I have to turn around and drive back the 700 miles on Friday to Cleveland. Thanks all.

Happy Thanksgiving.
Peace.

well seeing as how there new that could have something to do with it, sometimes when i get new pads they get kinda hot but once u break them in they should cool down and u drove quite a ways. Im not a brake expert im just speaking my opinion. drive it around a little more see what happens

Yeah, it doesn't sound like too big a deal. We all know the stress that stop and go traffic can put on brakes. Plus the fact that they're new probably contributed to it. As long as they stop the car you're in good shape.

I think new rotors always smoke. Dont worry about it.
