replacing brake fluid?

I took a look in my brake reservoir today and it looks nasty. I think its time to change the fluid. I checked the service manual and it explains how to bleed the brakes, starting from the right rear, then front left, etc. but it doesn't specifically mention replacing all the fluid. Is this the way to flush all the fluid out or is there a different way to do this?

Use a "turkey baster" or siphon to remove all fluid from the reservoir, fill reservoir w/ clean fresh fluid, bleed brakes while refilling the reservoir as fluid is expelled from each brake line till fluid runs clear. Be patient, the rear wheels will take perhaps 10 pump, bleed, close cycles to clear old fluid.

I use a short length (~ 24") of clear tubing forced over the bleed nipple to catch the bleed fluid in a cut-off detergent bucket. The hollow bucket handle is handy to insure the bleed tube stays inside the bucket. A closed end 10mm wrench is installed on the bleeder before jamming the tube over the bleeder nipple.

good luck
