Repaint

I want to get a repaint for my car and my friend offered me a great deal...free i just gotta help him prep the body but, the colors championship white because he has that color paint ready. I was thinking about painting my accord but it's currently black with gunmetal rims. So i don't think the setup i had would flow if i did it white. Then i got to thinking about the tl and how i had minor body damage on the passenger side. I figured i could get that fixed and get it repainted. But i like my car black and i dont know how championship white would look on it. Whats the name of the white on the first gen tl's? I might just have my accord done and if its good i'll get my tl fixed afterwards in black or white. I've seen the ek which was his last job and the car did come out clean. But i don't know how it'll turn out this time

Wonder how hard it is to pull the motor out of the 3.2 and strip the interrior...anyone try this yet?

Isnt championship white the Type-R white color? Or is that a different white. Becuase if that is the Type-R color, its kind of an off white cream color, and im not sure how that would make the TL look.

I wouldn't know about how hard it is to pull the motor out... but I do know it would be a challenge if you don't have the correct tools... especially the jack for the engine... the thing that lifts it out and a friend or two to help... anyways... check out the Photo Gallery for pics of white cars... mines white but its a 2.5... it doesn't get as dirty i'll tell you that... can go for a week and still look clean... unless you are wearing white gloves and wipe them on the car... Anyways... the white i have is a Pearl White or as the car says on the driver side door... Exterior NH-585P Interior Type - F... if i'm correct those are the little codes Honda/Acura uses for the colors... anyone, correct me if i'm wrong...

But again... you'll be 1 out of a lot of TL's that are white... and again... i've seen a lot that are black... Everyone has their own color preferance... i was actually thinking of painting mine blue... but figured it was too racer for my taste... so maybe a... well, you all will see later in the next year or so... Good luck with the paint job...

P.S... Free is actually the best price for everything, but doesn't come with a guarentee that it's going to come out perfect... remember that...

championship white is the color for white type-r's. but my friend might go for it because im not sure how i'd feel about painting my car white once it's done. I'm use to having all black cars in my family...lol. But my friend has to repair someone elses car before he'd paint mine so I have time to think it over.

That Escalade pearl white is nice, but the best pearl white is still the first, the Audi pearl white is the BEST looking pearl white (IMHO ne ways)

In my opinion, I like the first gen TL pearl white! biased, maybe, but, I think the Caddy pearl white is a little too much pink in it, and the audi pearl white is very close to ours I think...ours has a little more yellow opposed to the pink in the caddy from what I've seen. I know I dont like white cars, but mine is the caymen white pearl tri coat, and I love the color, especially when its super clean and sunny outside. The Type R white is cool, but it might not be enough pearl..as I dont think it has any pearl in it...

Type R has NO pearl at all. I think the Audi pearl has a little more actualy pearl than the TL's pearl white, which is much like my Black pearl, with very little actual pearl. If I get my car repainted, I am going the same black, but with more of the dark blue pearl, just a touch. Should come out lookin pretty sweet. That's prolly gonna wait for a few years though. Two-staged the car last weekend and it came out sweet. No sense painting it now!!

hmmm the same black with more pearls sounds nice. But im going to hold off on the paintjob cus my car got egged 2 times in one week and it left some pretty bad damage. and i dont want it to happen to new paint. Hopefully i can catch who has been doing it. Cus that means new paintjobs for all my cars and my moms. The cops quoted it at about 6 grand in damage. I based it upon 2 grand per car and 3 cars were damaged because i know the bodyshop i would take em too would charge that much. Luckily one of those idiots dropped his cell phone so i can get some idea who it is, once the cops tell me
