radio

Does this car have a factory amp? if so where is it located? I am thinking about replacing it with a nice aftermarket stereo and I am not sure if it would intefere with anything. On the Lexus I owned , the amp was located under the passenger seat and stated where it was in the owners manual. How ever I cant find anything in the acura owners manual about a amp.

nope. our gen doesn't have one but the 2nd gen does i think. all you need to replace your stereo is an acura wiring harness.

No amp, our cars are VERY easy to work on. A new headunit will do wonders.

My Next questions is ..When i insert a CD into the player , I get a code . I tried cleaning it with a CD cleaner and no luck. What Acura Stereos will fit into the car , meaning do I have to look for one specific for a 1996 2.5 TL , or will other model or makes work? Thanks.

Any 1996 - 1998 TL player will work, 2.5 and 3.2 are the same.

if you have the manual, the radio code is usually recorded somewhere in there on a stereo page. punch that in and you should be good to go.

This is a very common age related issue. Mine did the same thing. New headunit and works great. I was lucky to have a model with the factory infinity speakers, so I haven't (so far) had to start replacing them.
