Hey Guys,

My Passenger side will open all doors using they key when unlocking.

The Driver side will NOT open all the doors but just the driver side only. I've turned it a few times just to make sure but it will only open the driver side door only. I've always though that's the way it is until I opened the passenger side where it will unlock them all.

Could anyone confirm if my driver side door is working correctly or if something is wrong?

If it's an issue... is it's a DIY project or a dealer item?

yeah, my car does the same thing. i guess it's normal.

 

hold the key in the open position for 2-3 seconds. it should unlock all the doors fronm the driver's side.

 

i dont even know the last tme i opene my door with the key

that is normal, theres nothing wrong with it... see that way when you got a chick with you and its cold you might as well go and unlock her door first cuz its gonna unlock yours at the same time... this way she gets wet thinking youre such a sweet guy when you really just wanted to unlock all the doors at the same time. ehheh

 

don't your TL's come with door unlock remote thing?
all canadian first gen's do..

well beside the fact that i actually use a clifford alarm to unlock all doors at once all the time...

 

Do what Turbo_TL said. By holding it, the signal unlocks all doors. It's made that way. So the driver could only open the door, if he were by himself. Convenience i suppose?

I was in San Fran so I couldn't try turning the key for 3 seconds however it WORKS...

And yeah yeah, the remote will open the doors too but with 2 cars, I dont carry the TL remote since my other car's key and remote is a single huge unit. My key is just getting too big.


Anyone here replaced their Remote Key opener with an newer model? I tried the newer remote and it dont work.

So looks like the new alarm unit is needed to upgrade to the newer remote. Anyone thinking about doing this???
