Question about custom grills
i did the search and found a lot of info about the mesh grill for the 2.5, but there are still a few questions that bug me be4 i change my grill...
1. Will it rust in the rain, and if it does, what should i use to stop the rusting
2. many different materials were used by many people, and i was curious on which one worked the best.

how to do the top is on here just do a search.
For bottom 1 peice of gutter guard
bag of short black zip ties
several paper clips (to pull through the zip ties)
pliers and something to cut the zip ties with
For the bottom, I took 1 peice of gutter guard and cut off about 2 inches down one side (the short side). Then I inserted the gutter guard (GG) behind the bottom grille by fitting it between wheel and a black plastic molding thingy (which you have to pull down on). Then I worked the GG from one side of the grille to the other until it filled up the whole space.
Then using black zip ties, I tied it off. I used about 10-15 zip ties.
You need to bend the zip tie back, then stick it thru, and use a unfolded paper clip to pull the zip back thru by catching the bent part of the zip with the paper clip. Then pull the zip tight uising pliers and make sure the square notch of the zip tie is towards the side of the grille. Then cut off excess zip line.
Its pretty easy, just buy an extra GG peice and experiment, you will figure it out.

I wuz gonna do that, but............. I would see how it looks over the grill first. I think it would hurt the resale, unless you got some sandpaper for plastic and sanded it down. The problem I saw was that the GG is flimsy and u need the grille as a frame to hold it in, whether it is placed in front or in back. I have seen several other cars (not TL) that put GG over the grille and it looked good.. You could also use 2 peices of GG and it may hide the black grille totally. Dammit now I wanna put GG in front of mine too.
