Unhappy Problem!!!

Hey guys...
I own a 96 2.5 w/ about 75k miles.. A question: Whenever I go over an uneven part of a road.. my car goes crazy like i loose control.. also when I brake my car turns..(i know i need an alignment and my brakes done) but what else do you think is damaged?
I had my tire changed at discount a couple days ago.. and now when I go above 60 mph my steering wheel shakes like crazy.. sounds like my tires are gonna fall off or something.. They supposedly rotated the tires, I know I need an alignment becuz it steers to the right..

Now with all my problems and there are tons.. what should i do.. im gonna take it to the dealer, should i save up for the work now..

I don't think that you have much time to save up before bringing your baby to the dealer. I suggest that you should take it to the dealer ASAP and use your credit card instead. You don't want it to get worse than it already is.

sounds like just a case of a serious needed wheel alignment. Also check your struts out while your there too! That should be about it from what you posted.

oh then yeah...you need a MAJOR alignment. usually that means that the cars been in a serious accident. maybe the car went up a curb really hard by the previous owners. you must have gotten the car cheap or something huh? but yeah, when your wheel shakes, its been in an accident.

a couple years back i had the rack and pinon replaced (cuz my husband slid on ice and went up a curb) at pep boys and they fucved it up, so i took it to the acura dealership supposedly they fixed it.. but ever since.. my car has been acting weird.. it would stall when i go into a carwash, or just stop if water gets inside the engine, i dont know.. and another thing.. i know our cars engine fan comes on, after the car is off, but mine is so freakin loud.. its annoying..

is everyone elses fan that loud???

Im taking it to the dealership today.. so hopefully they can fix the darn thing.. or maybe ill just buy me a new car..

Hey. my fan's pretty loud too. When I just got the car, I thought there was something wrong with it. But after reading up on Japanese websites dedicated to Honda 5 cylinder models, I found out that the fan needs to be on even when the engine is turned off because of its poorly designed cooling system.

okay.. the dealer just told me that my brakes need to be done, rotors resurfaced($300-400)the shaking of the steering wheel, needs to be rebalanced(tires) taking it back to discount to save me 39.95.. the loud fan is due to a fan bearing gone bad(covered under warranty..if i didnt have my extended warranty it woulda cost $366 for the part and $99 to install) so 5-Banger you might wanna take it to the dealer for that

I will hopefully get my car back tues.. so we'll see how that goes..
thanks for all the replies guys!!!

Car shaking problem:

You said that the car shakes now when driving or when you drive on uneven road surfaces. You had mentioned that you replaced a tire?

Did you replace one (1), two(2) or all four (4)? Reason for me asking is cause if you only replaced one your car will automatically pull to one side due to having two different tires and one has more wear than the other. You should always replace tires in sets of two (2) or four (4). (Same goes for Shocks and struts) Otherwise you will have a lopsided TL

Secondly, you could have a higher air pressure in one tire than the other, so you should check ALL the tires air pressure.

Also you need to make sure that they speed balanced your wheels, if they didnt that could be a reason as well. (seeing you say it shakes above 60mph)

Also your steering could shimmy when driving cause you need the car aligned or you have uneven tirewear as well.

If your car shimmys while stepping on the brakes it could be due to the rotors being warped. I went to Eastern Autosports and got crossdrilled/slotted rotors with performance pads (cost $266 + 150 for install just for the front rotors and pads), but no more pulling to the side problems when breaking.

Hope this is of some help to you.

hey guys i got my car back..

both my front and rear brakes had to be replaced.. the loud noise was the fan bearing they had to repl and upon replacing the fan they found the radiator leaking so they replaced that.. and my car just needed to get the tires rebalanced.. all of this costed me $328.00 after the extended warranty paid for the rest..

so far the car is running like new.. thanks again guys
