Painting Brake Calipers?
I want to paint mine, and think I will as the weather is getting better, but I have no idea what color I want to go with. Stock 11 spoke rims, with green paint.
I'm thinking maybe black or silver.
Red or yellow seem too flashy for having stock brakes.
Green to match the car, but I don't think I could get a green that matches well and it would just look crappy.
White? Seems like it would be crazy hard to keep clean though.

I didn't even know you could paint them. I've always wanted something nicer looking than the nasty looking things in my wheels. Please post some pics and I'd like to hear some suggestions for colors to go with the stock rims.
Also, what's the procedure and materials needed to clean, and prep the calipers? Is there a way to clean the discs as well?

to clean the discs, i just brake cleaner. it dries really fast and gets rid of a lot of the crap on the rotors. try that before putting any other material on them. and don't get paint on the rotors lol

You can spend the extra money for the caliper paint, but it's really not necessary. Tremclad Rust paint works great, lasted on my Integra for 4 years, and I was HARD on those brakes. TL used a metallic blue paint with chrome paint underneath Not as hard on those brakes, but they still look good (except for the one I replaced and haven't painted yet!! ) and it's been 3 years so far.

While you're at it, take off the rotors and paint them too. Not the surfaces that come in contact with the pad though! Just the other parts. Use BBQ grill paint.
Solves the rusty rotor problem nicely.
