Unhappy Painted My Taillights...

Yeah umm..Mandy was right...don't use more than like 2 or 3 coats of the spray paint or it gets dark...I used 4 and it's pretty dark, darker than the other red, not significantly but if you get within 2 feet you can sort of tell...I'm overall really pleased though. Mike Accord I still have a few questions...Does this paint last a long time without fading or coming off??? And is there anyway this process is reversible so I can take it off and maybe try it again? Thank You!

Ya it lasts a long time. I painted my accord tailights 3 years ago havent touched them since, still looks great. It will last a few years. Weather won't effect it either. Gasoline takes it off, hehe. Then you could try it again.

It says on the bottle "Laquer Thinner" removes it, if I get that on the paint will it damage it? Probably yeah...but my main question is would the laquer thinner hurt the light housing itself? FYI I used a different Transparent Red then the one you suggested

Post a picture and we'll decide.

They will never know it was not designed that way!

oh no in general i'm happy with it its just you can tell its a different color if you get within maybe 2 feet of the car and if you get within like 6 inches you can see little bubbles Did you guys have problems with that or did your paint go out completly smooth?

doh forgot to tell you about the bubbles. try to get rid of those before the spray paint dries. sorry about that. use like a terry cloth to do that and just dab it lightly. and don't use nail polish remover to remove the paint. it'll take the paint off, but will leave sort of a hue cause it eats away at the plastic.

Make sure you take the tailights off the car. They come off easily. I took mine off when I painted my tails last year. I think its only 3 nuts. Pop off the tailight cover inside the trunk and you'll see the nuts by the bulb plugs. I never tried to take the spray off BTW.
