Over heat!!!

My friend was waiting for me outside a store with AC on (about 20 mins)... when I got out ... coolant all over the ground.
It was over heated, so I turned off the engine, opened the hood, coolant was boiling in coolant reservoir (it was flowing over from the radiator) and its getting out of the reservoir...

wait for a lil for the engine cool down, refill radiator, and go home

On the way home

AC on + going <45mph = over heat
AC on + going > 45mph = ok
AC off = ok

I dont see the left fan (looking toward the car)working when AC on or off, even when its over heated

Im thinking of the thermostat or the sensor but not sure

If one fan is not working, fix that fan. Both fans should run w/ AC compressor turning. Is this a 3.2 or 2.5TL. Thermostat may be OK, or perhaps contributing, but fan is definitely bad from your post.

Put year/trim/engine info in your signature line and it's always presented when you post.

good luck

I tested the fan and it worked

I didnt pay attetion yesterday but the upper radiator hose expanded bigger... was it caused by unopened thermostat?

Sounds like the thermostat stuck closed and then when the cooling system calls for the fan to come on normally it won't because of the thermostat being stuck closed. Would explain the coolant going back into the reservoir. From my experience only buy the OEM thermostat from Honda because it really does affect the car's drivability.

If one fan was running and other fan was off, the off fan is bad regardless of thermostat. Sometimes a fan will run intermittently when the brushes are worn out.

good luck
