I noticed that on my '96TL the interior door handles have this stuff that resembles a chrome 'foil' wrapped around them. Seems kinda like a dumb way to cheap out on an Acura. I only noticed though because my driver's side one started to come off. Superglue fixed that.

that's probably the original finish coming off... i got that fixed the day i bought my car from carmax
