Oil Change

I know my 97 2.5 TL always got 5W30 oil whenever I changed oil at dealer or any quick oil change place. Last saturday I took my car for an oil change at a local Honda dealer and later I found out that they used 10W30 oil.
Is there any harm to the engine ? Shoild I go back and ask to put 5W30 ?

thanks

I have been running 10w30 in my car for the longest time. I run 5w30 for the winter only. There won't be any harm to your engine. Actually the slightly thicker oil is better for an engine with higher mileage.

Yeah, no harm at all. Thats what I use in all the cars (minus the truck, it recommends differently) because thats what they all reccommend. You can even go check the manual. It basically says 10W-30 or 0W-30 if the temperature will be below ~0.

If you go too thick though it can cause problems. My dad put something thicker in my moms car, and she, who isn't very mechanically inclinced, noticed the engine didn't start as well and that something sounded "funny". Changed the oil after about 500 miles, and her problems went away.

5w30 covers the 'range' of temps for 10w30 and then some....as per better for colder weather. (so they say)
