When I make turns my steering is making some weird noises. I checked the power steering fluid and it seems to be fine. Do you guys have any ideas on what it could be??

 

Explain these noises a little better. Is this a cracking, popping, grinding, whining..etc.. ?? Does the wheel tug on you around turns? When do you hear the noise? Hard turns? Easy turns? Constant noise?..How many miles does the car have?

I couldn't even guess with just "weird noises"

 

OK. Medium to hard turns. Its a constant whining but it does not do it all the time.

Does it make the noise while the car is not moving but running? I mean can you sit there with the engine running and crank the wheel hard, will it make the whining noise then? If so, I would guess it's powersteering. If it's only at speed it may be cv joints up front? It's hard to guess really. I would suggest taking it to someone who does free estimates such as Midas around here

 

if youre low on power steering fluid, it will be tough to turn the steering wheel. as for a noise when you turn...its not a clicking noise, right? if so, thats normal.. so you say your car makes a "whining" noise??? i wonder what that sounds like.. can you at least identify where the noise is coming from??

 

Hrm....I have noise when I brake sometimes, but other than that, I don't recall having any when I turn the steering wheel.

Yes! Please explain. I like to check mine too just to make sure in case I miss something.
